Zero Hunger Campaign

The Zero Hunger Campaign, led by Nova Scotia songwriter Dave Gunning, is a grassroots initiative dedicated to addressing food insecurity in rural communities across Atlantic Canada.

Rooted in the belief that no child should go to school hungry, the campaign works in partnership with the Rural Communities Foundation of Nova Scotia to provide direct financial support to school breakfast and lunch programs. Funds raised through concerts, donations, and community engagement are distributed to schools where the need is greatest, helping ensure students have reliable access to nutritious meals.

What sets the Zero Hunger Campaign apart is its deeply personal, community-driven approach. Gunning integrates the initiative into his touring and storytelling, using his platform to raise awareness, foster connection, and inspire collective action. Since its launch, the campaign has made a tangible impact, distributing over $200,000 to dozens of schools and reaching thousands of students.
