Dave Gunning's "Hard Workin' Hands" First Place Winner in the 2008 Indie International Songwriting Contest

Dave's song " Hard Workin Hands" co-written with Newfoundland songsmith, Ron Hynes has been chosen First Place Winner in the Folk Category in the INDIE INTERNATIONAL SONGWRITING CONTEST!

Inspired by Ron, it all began one night in a downtown Halifax bar when he approached Dave to write with him. “Hynes wrote “Take a look at these “hard workin’ hands” on a napkin and shoved it at Gunning, saying, “Who is this guy? Write a song about him. That line eventually turned into “Hard Workin' Hands”, a signature co-write and duet on Dave’s latest release, “House For Sale”.

“Hard Workin’ Hands” extols the virtues of hard work while also maintaining a sense of self when the work day ends, which is mirrored by Gunning’s youthful voice matched to the wiser one of Dr. Ron Hynes.” EXCLAIM
